I have been using the cloud based spreadsheet for few years now. Google Spreadsheet I personally prefer to use a lot. I do use Microsoft Office every now and then. But my current use is limited to the desktop only. I think there seems to be increased in usage of the Google Spreadsheet has been increasing lately.
My experience with the Google spreadsheet is mostly for editing the shared spreadsheet. And we can use cloud collaboration too. That's the main benefit of the Google spreadsheet. You get more people to work on the content. You can even lock the columns too. A lot is out there to learn. Like say importing data into the spreadsheet.
